The fourth stage in Paris-Nice was shortened with 53 kilometres, while there was some snow at the start in Saint-Junien. After 30 kilometres Nikolas Maes attacked. Together with Roelandts and Huguet he dominated a big part of this stage. They took a maximum advantage of 6 minutes, the sign for Rabobank and Caisse d`Epargne to acclerate a bit. Maes and his companions stayed in the front for a long time, but with less then 10 kilometres to go the 3 escapees were caught.

On the final climb a group of 6 riders attacked. They took a small gap, but kept it going till the finish line. Sagan took the stage win in the sprint in front of Kolobnev and Roche. Jens Voigt ended in 4th place and is the new leader. The first part of the peloton finished at 6 seconds, with some riders of Team Quick Step amongst them. Sylvain Chavanel was the first rider of our team in a 18th place.
